With great sadness, we inform you that Thomas ‘Tommy’ Hand passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday 18th May 2021 at the age of 82 after a brave battle with Supranuclear Palsy.
Tommy was a well-respected member of the Dee Why Surf Lifesaving Club, dedicating his life to surf lifesaving and in particular the surfboats.
Tommy joined DYSLSC in the 1962/63 season, was awarded Life Membership in 1976, and served over 25 years on the committee. He also won numerous national gold medals in the boats whilst representing Dee Why.
Dee Why SLSC would like to express our deepest sympathies and give condolences to his family, wife Lynn, and children Cherene and Thomas Junior, our thoughts are with them.
Service Details:
For those that would like to join us in celebrating the life of Tommy, the service will be held on Tuesday 1st June 2021 from 2 pm in the Magnolia Chapel at Macquarie Park Cemetery and Crematorium (cnr Delhi and Plassey Roads, North Ryde NSW).
