Why your support Matters - What we do at Dee Why Surf Life Saving Club
Training and equipping over 500 members who keep Dee Why Beach and surrounding waters safe.
Maintaining IRBs, rescue boards, defibrillators, and radios — critical gear that takes a pounding in the surf and must be replaced regularly.
Delivering over 50 new lifesaving qualifications in the past year, including 38 new Bronze Medallions.
Specialised training in spinal injury management and major bleed control in response to changing beach conditions.
Engaging our membership through nippers and youth pathways, that fosters belonging, leadership, and transition into patrol roles.
Supporting CALD and migrant communities with tailored water safety programs, and strengthening First Nations engagement through the PYP initiative.
• Raising over $100,000 for charities and supporting campaigns that extend far beyond surf lifesaving.
• Hosting local surf sports events, school groups, and community programs at our club, which serves as a hub for learning, fitness, and connection.
• Providing leadership, mentoring, and gender equity programs such as Life saver on the land, which build safer and more respectful communities.
Supporting high participation across all disciplines, from board, ski, and swim, to boats, IRB racing, pool rescue, and lifesaving events.
Ensuring athletes of all ages and abilities are supported with coaching, transport, and competition subsidies.
